Ashutosh Rana's journey to playing Gokul Pandit in Tanuja Chandra's film 'Dushman' was unexpected. Initially rejected by Mahesh Bhatt due to appearing too innocent, Rana got a small role in 'Ghulam' and impressed the Bhatts during a movie trial. They changed their plans, casting Rana as Gokul Pandit and turning him into a star.
