NeoCov: A variant of COVID has been discovered among the bats in South Africa…
Chinese Academy of Sciences and Wuhan University’s researchers revealed that a new variant of COVID has been outspread in South Africa. Large family of viruses is led by a coronavirus which causes a range of diseases from normal fever to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). But yet-to-be-peer studies evaluate that NeoCov is much closer to the first outbreak that was MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) in 2012 and 2015.
NeoCov and human cells:
The scientists from Wuhan University believe that NeoCov can easily transfix in human cells in the same way as in Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-COV). Researchers have warned that NeoCov is stand in need of only one mutation to permeate in human cells for effect but further mutation can cause potentially harmful. more read on valoursy.com
Symptoms of NeoCov:
Scientists agree that NeoCov has similar symptoms to SARS-CoV-2 like shortness of breath, cough, and fever, etc. so, this variant is also affecting to humans in the same way.
What WHO says?
Clearly stated by WHO told to TASS a Russian news agency that “Whether the new virus NeoCov detected in the study will pose a risk for humans will require further study”.
WHO says that “Animals, particularly the wild animals are the main source of these outspreads more than 75% of all variant infectious diseases in humans, many of which are caused by existing viruses. Coronaviruses are also found in animals, including in bats and mice which have been identified as a natural reservoir of many of these viruses”.
Further stated by WHO that it works closely to respond and monitor the threat of growing “zoonotic viruses” with the OIE (world organization for animal health), FAQ (food and agriculture organization), and UNEP (United Nations environment programmer).
According to Chinese researchers, NeoCoV carries the potential combination of MERS-high CoV’s mortality rate that one in every three infected person dies 1:3 and the current SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus’s high death rate.
